Our final Tiny Stabs event for 2019 is with the delightful Robert Mahar. You might remember him as the super kind and talented contestant on NBC's Making It. Here's your chance to meet him in person and take a tiny stab at one of his delightful embroidery projects.

Stitch your way to the depths of the Puget Sound! Perfect your hand embroidery with Robert Mahar as we embellish his original collage created just for this workshop and custom printed on linen cotton canvas. Beautifully eccentric imagery sourced from 19th Century paper ephemera are combined with graphic elements to create this monstrous ode to the Pacific Northwest.

Perfectly suited for beginners, instruction will cover solid embroidery basics and essential stitches. However, students with more embroidery experience are invited to join for a fun refresher course and the opportunity to stitch this unique 12” x 12” sampler. All materials (custom sampler, embroidery floss, hoops and needles!) along with instructional diagrams are provided and included in the cost of the class.

Robert Mahar is a Los Angeles based embroidery enthusiast, artist and designer who develops and teaches imaginative crafts and clever do-it-yourself projects and products. He recently crafted on a national stage as a featured maker on the inaugural season of NBC’s crafting competition show Making It with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. With an education in studio arts and art history, he has worked in a variety of creative fields including 13 years as an appraiser of modern and contemporary art.
