Tiny Stabs is our stitching craft class series at Monster.

Sashiko is an age old Japanese style of mending that is not only functional, but beautiful. In this 3 hour workshop, you’ll learn the sashiko technique by creating your own sashiko patch sampler. You will also learn design transfer techniques and pattern creation. Bring a pair of ripped (or not) jeans to create your own completely unique pair of wearable art. No previous embroidery experience is necessary.

Materials needed:
- a pair of jeans that are ripped, or that you would like to embellish

Our Teacher:
Erin Eggenburg is a creative embroiderer and the one woman show at She has always been an avid recycler, and now incorporates scrap and secondhand materials into her work. She teaches sashiko and embroidery classes regularly in Bellingham.
